His pack mentality perk totally negates part of an NCR quest (Three Card Bounty), with Violet. One thing that put me off about Niner is that he says he's from Denver, Colorado, but talks like someone from Southern California, like a surfer, or a skate-rat.
I just leave him in Victors shack, he seems to like it there. Maybe it was a bug that couldn't be fixed, I'm not sure. was removed from the newer version, probably because he was likely to get stuck in certain indoor cells, and crash the game. And I already know you could turn off her singing if you wanted to, but, it hurts her feelings, and seems to hamper her friendship with you later on. I actually have the first version of Willow, from a couple years ago. They both make great companions ion their own way, but only Niner gets annoying, Willow (when she isn't bugged) is just great. I'm also curious how Jack will react to the fact that he is voiced by the same guy who did the Fiend who stole 25000 caps from him. And having taken this perk, Niner's perk is useless.
I use this perk just so I am not constantly running around hunting down geckos and bloat-flies which my compass thinks are an immidiate threat rather than something 5 miles away which isn't a threat at all. As to Pack mentality, its not really very powerful it only affects dogs after all, and there is a vanilla perk which has the same affect for all creatures except rad-scorpions and deathclaws. Also he really is best as an early game companion due to some of the things he can react to. I tend to leave him in the 38 once I have done with him as you can't dismiss him without failing the quest "grah!", but he is likeable, just a tad annoying. You can turn off her singing as well.Īs to Niner, yeah he's a druggy, but so is Jack, plus he's funny and his quest isn't actually that long. I'm not so sure, I love Willow, maybe Jack will too, hard to know.
